Yes, we are motivated to protect off spring, then protect the off spring. I think this are instincts or the nature of some organisms.
Must there always be some sort of intrinsic reward for doing good?
Yes, because then this motivates us to actually work toward our goals. Since we are all selfish, we will want to we rewarded for our personal pride, our social rewards, and for the attention.
Mr. Otis once said, "That having integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching." If this is so, and no one knows when we have done good, would you still do good?Well it depends how "good" is defined. If it was related to studying, well, I wouldn't be able to keep my promise of performing well. If it were good deeds and morals, I would definitely do good even if I won't be rewarded because then I would feel good.
"Delayed reciprocal altruism", seems like a gamble - back to game theory, any way. Does this seem to make sense to you. That is that we act out of a desire to have what we have done being done to us?
This question is similar to asking if I believe in karma. Well , I do believe this because whenever I do something bad, bad things will happen it to me. It might be a coincidence but for me, since I have experienced this I tend to watch my actions and what I do.

Altruism is the belief and practice of disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others. So when looking at the definition, when committing an act of altruism, we are being truly selfless.

What seems to be the major motivating factor(s) for people that are affected by an eating disorder?
The major motivating factors for people that are affected by eating disorders may be the following. First, the media. The media displays models and celebrities who are stick skinny. This impact mostly teenagers to consider the image of stick skinny to be attractive. Also, the way they portrait "healthy" is different from what is originally considered healthy. Secondly, the image guys want women to be. In Korea men prefer skinny women rather than "chubby". This leading to women dieting. But soon after, this wanting to impress men can turn to women wanting to reach a goal. To satisfy themselves because the image they think is attractive motivates them.


What might be the social/political implications for there being a gay gene?
Gay gene is proven thus homosexuals demands legal protection. Homosexuals, say it is not their fault but is their gene. Scientist can find a cure for this also they would have the right to be open without getting harassed. They would have the right to be protected.
